Finally

Finally, my PC is back home, where it belongs. With all new keyboard and hard drive.

Now the task of posting the pics of the cards I've made since it's been away.

And as you can imagine, I have a fair few and can't wait to get blogging again.

Pink Gem Babies

Have you all seen the new baby stamps by Janet at Pink Gem Designs? They are so cute!

And as my nephew and his girlfriend are getting ever closer to their due date, they were ideal for me to make ready for the new arrival.

Do I sound excited? ... because I simply can't wait! For the baby boy card, I stamped the image onto stripy paper and cut out. I then stamped several images onto white paper and used whispers brush pens to colour it in. I then cut them out and decoupaged the layers.

I used the same stripy paper for the matting and layering and added some nautical embellishments I had lying around, I mounted the stamped image onto a nestability scalloped circle and added a greeting and a couple of buttons to finish.
For the baby girl card, I did exactly the same but used border punches and peeloffs for the matting and layering. And flowers with gem centres on the wheels rather than buttons.

How can anyone resist these little cuties ... I certainly couldn't, lol.

Computer Update

So I said my computer hard drive went (20th March).
They collected it on Tuesday 24th to take to repair centre and we've heard nothing from them, so today my hubby decided to phone to find out what was happening.

Apparently they have'nt even looked at it, lack of engineers, we were told. Even though we were told it would be back within seven to ten days. So my hubby is less than impressed, as you can imagine.

And as I'm totally freaking out over not being able to blog, I've borrowed my son's PC, until mine comes back, so that all my card pics, that have been patiently waiting to be uploaded for several weeks, can finally be uploaded.

So I will be blogging when I can, but the sooner my own PC is back the better.

Knit One For Mother

Can you knit?I used b-b-q skewers to knit on (20 stitches/15 rows), which turned out to be an absolute nightmare, they kept splitting and catching the yarn, by the time I was finished, I'd come to wish I hadn't started. I used wooden beads on the end, once I decided how long I wanted them.I used a ready made handbag card that I had in my stash. I printed a knitting pattern and wool label (both personalised with recipients name). I draw around a pair of small scissors from my tool kit, cut out all the pieces and attached them with a gold brad.I made a pocket out of contrasting paper and ruffled the bottom edge, so that the pocket actually stands out away from the card, so that I could add my items into the pocket. Went around the card with faux stitches. To finish the card I added dark blue flowers with punched centres and a gold mini brad, with Leone Em ash branches punched from white paper. Finally I added a mini blue envelope and white greeting card with mini flowers.

Lipstick Diva

How cool are these new cards and toppers from Kanban? They're called 'lipstick diva's' and have several variation within the kit, available from QVC, UK. I've made this card for my best friends daughter, who is turning 14 in a couple of weeks, this kit is just perfect for teenage girls.
I used a card, one topper that I matted onto silver mirri cut with scallop nestability die. I then did some spirelli with dark pink thread and added flowers and ash branch's and three gems. I added a border also matted onto silver mirri and added gems to the glittered flowers on the border. I did spirelli on the small scalloped circle and added a small butterfly topper from the kit, I then punched tiny holes into the circle and used a beaded pin with knotted ribbon. With a sentiment to finish.

Quick to make, with great results and all diecut and glittered for you ... great fun!
