Booty-ful Bunny

For this card, I used a kit ... yes I know ... I don't do kits, but when I saw this one by "Kanban", I totally fell in love with the whole concept.
Why didn't anyone think of this before?

Basically, you get the front and back of the image ... how cool. Kanban have come up with a whole family of characters called the "patchwork pals". In the kits you get scenes, greetings, character sheets and cards and envelopes to boot. And the quality is second to none, anyway ... on this card everything except the gems, flowers, peel offs and ribbon comes from the kit.As you can see the bunny has a front and the rear of the bunny is on the inside of the card ... how cool is that. Easy peasy to assemble. I used spellbinder nesty scallop die cut for the verse (computer generated) on the inside to mimic the circle aperture in the card.I'm totally in love with these cute little characters. And ... why didn't anyone think of this before, I wish it had been me, don't you?

Christening Shoe

I made it for my gorgeous great niece Lexie's christening. Wanting something different from the norm, I had seen this done on "SCS" and couldn't wait to try it. I cut the pattern out onto bazzil bling card in ivory and stamped onto it with pink die based ink and added glitter to the flowers. I followed the instructions to make the shoe up and added funky foam in bright pink for the sole. I used self adhesive braiding around the sole, to hide where it had been glued to the shoe, as it looked a bit messy. With a brad for the buckle and a few punched flowers and narrow (3mm) ribbon attached to the heel, the shoe was finished.I had to make a box from scratch, I added an acetate window, some punched border strips (martha stewart) around the base to emulate fencing, with grass and flowers to finish. I used quickutz die "pea pod" and nesties for a pretty embellishment and printed out the days details onto meltdust paper and heat embossed it using silver meltdust.I am really pleased with my first attempt, many more to come I think.

Poinsettia Passions

I am so excited to show you this card. I fell in love with the image as soon as I saw it. I limited the number of colours (red, black/silver and white), so it would give the traditional image a modern look.I simply printed out all the elements, matted the dp onto silver mirri and mounted it onto the red card base. Then I cut the image and some silver mirri with nesties label die, sprayed the flower layers with glitter varnish and decoupaged it up. I then added a chunky red bow with a heart pin and finished by adding red and silver gems to the poinsettia's. The verse I created in "mcs", and printed it out with the dp, I love making fancy greetings like this.So quick, so simple, but it's probably my favourite Christmas card I've ever made. Classic Christening

Good afternoon, Ladies ... well I've had a busy morning. My sister popped round for a cuppa and ended up having a go at stamping. She has recently started scrapbooking and caught the bug really quickly, so is now driving her family as mad, as I drive mine, lol.

So today I have made a christening card, using a Kanban, pyramage kit. The card that came with the kit, I cut up so that I will be able to get two cards from the one kit (typical crafter). I used three layers of the pyramage and placed it in the top right hand corner so that I could get some flowers on the spine. I added a chunky cream and gold bow to the card, with a ribbon slider cut from gold mirri with scallop nesties and a computer generated greeting. Then I wrapped the ribbon around the bottom of the gold card, before attaching to the main card.I didn't have any flowers in the right colour, so I made the flowers from some handmade paper using scallop nesties and cutting each circle into flower petals and shaped them with my Leone em tools. I finished the card with pearlescent blue ash branches.
Time for a cuppa tea ... phew! Enjoy your day, ladies.

Pink Gem Babies

Have you all seen the new baby stamps by Janet at Pink Gem Designs? They are so cute!

And as my nephew and his girlfriend are getting ever closer to their due date, they were ideal for me to make ready for the new arrival.

Do I sound excited? ... because I simply can't wait!For the baby boy card, I stamped the image onto stripy paper and cut out. I then stamped several images onto white paper and used whispers brush pens to colour it in. I then cut them out and decoupaged the layers.

I used the same stripy paper for the matting and layering and added some nautical embellishments I had lying around, I mounted the stamped image onto a nestability scalloped circle and added a greeting and a couple of buttons to finish.
For the baby girl card, I did exactly the same but used border punches and peeloffs for the matting and layering. And flowers with gem centres on the wheels rather than buttons.

How can anyone resist these little cuties ... I certainly couldn't, lol.

Little Boy Blue

These cards came about because I wanted to test embossing texture plates through my cuttlebug with a silicone sheet, something I'd seen being done on another site. I have about ten texture plates but had't used them much because embossing them by hand took forever. So I embossed the baby feet onto blue pearl paper ... I love embossing onto pearl medium, the effects are great and seem to have more depth.

I used a sizzix sizzlet alphabet, grosgrain ribbon, mini soother, baby themed sheep stickers from Sainsbury's of all places, nestabilitie scallop die for the mount and all done.

Quick simple and great fun.

Baby Birth Plaque

There's nothing more precious than the birth of a baby and what better way to celebrate than a plaque with all the babies birth details.I made this card using the Keepsake Bookatrix Board and some decoupage. I used nestability scallop dies for the circle and typed the babies details on my pc and printed them out. A few peeloffs, a card stand, ribbon and handmade punched flowers and a sweet little card.

Swell News

We had some swell news this new year, my nephew and his fiance are expecting a baby. I'm already a Great Aunt, my eldest niece saw to that fourteen months ago, with a gorgeous great nephew, Toby. For our family 2008 had been pretty rough all round and the news of a new addition brought everyone to tears.

So naturally, I had to make a card for them.Made using handbag cards I got from a £1 shop (six handbag cards, envelopes and a bag of gems for £1, what a bargain) and magnolia "expecting tilda" and "fence" stamps. I coloured the images with whispers brush stroke pens. Diecut the mount using nestability scallop dies, the tilda is cut out and layered with silicone glue, to add extra dimension. I added prima flowers with pearl brads and punched grass. For extra detail I added fake stitching around the handbag.

Now we just have to wait for the happy event in July.
